The Markoe Collection:
This line celebrates the extraordinary career of Merrill Markoe (one of my personal writing heroes), a writer whose comedic brilliance helped shape the landscape of American television comedy.
She earned her first Emmy Awards writing for The David Letterman Show, David's short-lived but beloved morning program. Four more writing Emmys followed for Late Night with David Letterman, the show's original incarnation before its move to CBS. She also picked up a Writers Guild Award for her work as a writer and performer on Not Necessarily the News. And then, in February 2020, came The Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for excellence in television writing, one of the most prestigious honors a TV writer can receive.
All proceeds from The Markoe Collection will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
